Obama: “I Can Do More Than One Thing At A Time”
Posted by: Rick
Yesterday, the Democrats were crying that if McCain did not vote for the bailout it would not pass. Now, McCain suspends his campaign to go to Washington to deal with what Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke says: “could be a serious crisis for our finacial situation and our economy” and the same Democrats are saying McCain isn’t needed.
McCain invited Obama to join him in going to Washington and resolving the crisis first. Obama’s response? He mocks McCains choice and says “I can do more than one thing at a time”.
I’m sure you’re quite capable of walking and chewing bubble gum at the same time, Obama, but right now this country needs all of our officials attention to be focused on what is an explosive situation. Yes, a public official needs to be able to multi-task. But that same official needs to set priorities, and when what’s most important is keeping your countries economy from crashing, you need to put your own wishes (to be President) aside, and focus on getting this crisis resolved today.
What you’ve shown today is that while you can do more than one thing at a time, your priority is position and not country. You were asked to step up to the plate in a bipartisan manner to fix the problem now and all you could do is jump on an opportunity to make political gain at the expense of those you want to vote for you.
Obama has run his campaign on the basis of change. On working together to unite the country, not divide it. Where was this unity today? The presser I seen today showed a very divisive Obama seeking to take a shot at McCain instead of taking an opportunity to show he would work with the other side when called to.
Update to this article: Obama has now agreed to go to Washington. It took a phone call from President Bush explaining that we need to deal with this issue now to get him to do it. It is sad that Obama has run his campaign on the principle of uniting rather than dividing, yet when the opportunity came to unite, he dropped the ball and left it to President Bush to have to do the uniting. President Bush, the very man Obama has put down and alleged voting for McCain is voting for another 4 years of Bush.
Those that have been around know I don’t like Obama as a candidate. I’ve said time after time that he is not able to make snap decisions. Everytime he does he goes off target and has to come back and fix it.
Today was a time he needed to stop and think his decision through. He chose instead to deliver a low blow. I would not have voted for him before this. I sure won’t vote for him after it.
